Louis Browne’s visual storytelling adds a layer of emotional depth to Carlita’s debut album, ‘Sentimental’
Renowned photographer and director Louis Browne has added a profound layer of introspection to Carlita’s long-anticipated debut album ‘Sentimental’, set for release on November 15 via Ninja Tune. As DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist Carlita unveils her lead single ‘The Moment’, featuring SG Lewis, it’s Browne’s visual narrative that deepens the album's exploration of Carlita’s inner world.
Louis Browne, known for his eclectic approach to visual storytelling, brings a unique sensitivity to the album artwork, which perfectly complements Carlita’s reflective vision. Browne’s work has been celebrated in the music industry, having collaborated with artists ranging from Billie Eilish to The 1975. His ability to translate music into a visual experience is particularly evident in ‘Sentimental’, where the bond between his imagery and Carlita’s emotive journey is undeniable.
Carlita has described her debut album as “a reflection of my inner world”, an album that strays from her usual club-oriented productions to explore the intimate moments of her life. Browne’s photography encapsulates this shift, moving away from the high-energy aesthetics typically associated with Carlita’s music and instead, embracing a softer, more nuanced visual language.
The album artwork becomes a mirror to Carlita’s exploration of “the beauty found in the sentimental moments” of her life, offering fans a glimpse into the “love for the process of life itself” that Carlita speaks of so passionately.
‘Sentimental’ will be available on digital and vinyl from November 15. Pre-order it here.
